Let’s discover more about the design, display, camera, and overall features of this photography-focused smartphone.

  A True Flagship

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra comes with the brand’s usual minimalist packaging, but the phone itself is a thing of beauty, one of the few flagship smartphones to offer such a large size and massive camera module.

Find X9 Ultra is available in Canyon Orange and Tundra Umber. The latter has a soft-touch rear panel, the former is brushed and matte.

The big 6.82-inch phone has a huge camera module on the back which gobbles up a huge chunk of the rear panel. Its design makes it clear that this is a phone for people who care more about the camera than a small, easy-to-carry device.

The Find X9 Ultra weighs in at 236 grams, so it’s a hefty smartphone. The big camera bump too can make it feel different in terms of weight and balance to a regular smartphone.

The phone features a flat display with a metal frame with slightly rounded corners. The phone has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and comes with a pre-installed screen protector. It’s also IP66, IP68 and IP69 rated for dust and water resistance.

But the screen of the smartphone is one of the most impressive things.

The Find X9 Ultra boasts a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with up to 3600 nits of peak brightness, and 144Hz refresh rate in supported games and 120Hz refresh rate for everyday use and other games.

Another big highlight of the phone is stereo speakers. They get plenty loud while maintaining a reasonable balance between vocals and bass.

Find X9 Ultra Photography

The most important feature of the Find X9 Ultra is certainly its camera. The phone has an advanced five-camera system on the rear.

It has a 200MP main camera with a Sony LYTIA 901 sensor, 200MP 3x telephoto camera, a 50MP 10x optical-zoom periscope telephoto camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 3.2MP monochrome camera. There is also a New-Gen True Colour camera to collect additional color information.

The 10x telephoto camera has up to 20x optical-quality zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. The 50MP selfie camera is also powerful enough for everyday photography.

According to various published reviews and camera samples, low-light and nighttime photography are among the areas where the phone’s camera system gets special attention.

In daylight, the camera’s image processing on the Find X9 Ultra is relatively controlled. In case of scenes with big difference between light and shadow, the phone tries to keep a more natural image rather than over-processing it.

Another major benefit of the camera system is its range of focal lengths. From the main camera and ultrawide to the 3x and 10x telephoto cameras, it offers the ability to switch between different lenses based on the situation.

With the Find X9 Ultra, the camera is versatile to shoot everything from distant objects, portraits, landscapes, and low-light.

But the massive camera system also means a large overall design of the phone. For those who prefer a smaller and lighter smartphone, this could be a downside.

In general, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is a flagship smartphone with a heavy focus on photography, but it still tries to offer a high-end experience on display, design, audio, and overall hardware, as per the published specs and online reviews.

But it’s also worth considering its large size and weight before you pick up the phone. The Find X9 Ultra is aimed at those who want a compact smartphone rather than a phone with a big display, powerful cameras and flagship-level features all in one.
